There is no place like home for the holidays and no place where this is truer than on Balboa Island in Newport Beach

Newport Beach's Balboa Island is a special place regardless of the season or time of year. During the holidays, however, this quaint, close-knit island community transforms into something even more magical.

There is no better event with which to experience Balboa Island's holiday vibe than the 23rd Annual Balboa Island Holiday Home Walking Tour.

Balboa Island Holiday Home Walking Tour
December 8, 2019
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sponsored by the Balboa Island Improvement Association, each year, the tour opens up the doors to some of the island's most elegant and beautifully decorated homes for visitors to view at their leisure.

For this year's tour, eight homes are featured, representing a mix of the island's eclectic architectural styles. From unique coastal cottages and island bungalows to more modern residences, there will be plenty to excite fans of both classic and contemporary design.

Of course, the homes themselves, are only part of the show. Adorned in their holiday best, the eight homes are sure to dazzle with storybook holiday yards, porches, and mantels wrapped in ribbons of green, red, and gold. There are also homes with exquisitely decorated Christmas trees—some stately and traditional, some with a more whimsical touch.

As with past years, refreshments are available at the Balboa Island Museum and live music is set to feature at several homes along the tour.

Tickets are $35.00 per person, available starting November 1st, and can be purchased online. You may also buy tickets in person at the following on-island locations: the Balboa Island Museum, Island Home, and Sur Le Mer. Off island, you can buy tickets at Bliss Home Design in Corona del Mar, Blue Springs Home in Costa Mesa, or Seaside Gallery and Goods in Newport Beach.

Tickets on the day of the home tour can be purchased starting at 9:30 a.m. from the Balboa Island Museum.
